RESUME / BIO / ARTIST STATEMENT
I have been actively pursuing photography for the past 4 - 5 years. I've collected a catalogue in excess of 1,500 photos. In November of 2007 I decided to sell online and through brick and mortar establishments.
Six pieces were purchase by CGC Communications at 1039 W. Grand. I have 5 - 10 pieces at AJs Posters and Prints at 1227 W. Diversey. I had 2 gallery openings on Friday February 8th at 'The Black Walnut Gallery' at 2135 W. Division and at Morpho Gallery at 5216 N. Damen. Last month I did a show at Chameleon in Oak Park with 12 pieces of varying size. My site is at http://yououghttobeinpictures.blogspot.com and I can be reached at 312-339-3381 or email druzik@sbcglobal.net. My medium is obviously photography. Sizes, prices and photos would depend on what you need.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Photography provides me with a tool to unlock my imagination and share with the world the photographic perspective in my mind. After a number of years creating 8mm film and video this new lens I’ve been seeing through for the past four or five years offers a new and exciting experience.
I have three digital cameras and one, if not all three, are with me at all times. I never want to say “Boy, do I wish I had my camera with me. That could be a great photo.”
I will go out with a mission in mind on what I want to photograph . . . Art, people, architecture, etc. That mission will change if I’m inspired by something else that catches my photographic eye. I think being flexible enhances my creativity and allows it a certain freedom. There’s always tomorrow to get back to that original mission.
A life-long dabbler in the arts . . . Clay sculpture, 8mm stop animation, painting . . . I find that photography is the one art-form that has consumed me. I achieve more enjoyment and gratification from photography than anything else I’ve done.
I also enjoy working in the virtual darkroom know as photoshop. Unlike the days of 35mm film digital gives me instant and unlimited satisfaction.
After years of building a catalog of photography I’ve decided to start selling my work last year. I have sold to individuals, businesses, gallery shows and on-line.
